An Interesting Article on Classroom Design

I found this interesting and hope you will, too:  http://blogs.kqed.org/mindshift/2012/08/for-back-to-school-reimagine-classroom-design/

The authors talk about how educators took a hard look at the way classrooms are typically set up, and how they could be changed to help children learn.  After all, that is the goal, not to have children sit quietly with their hands folded listening to the lesson.  Besides, has anyone ever seen children who actually behave that way?  Not if they're awake and their brains are engaged!

I'd love feedback from educators, after all you're the ones who teach every day.  Do you agree with the article?  How would you design your ideal classroom?  What are the barriers, besides the obvious financial ones, to making this happen?
